Assessment and diagnosis of intellectual disability in Panama
Intelligence assessments allow us to measure cognitive abilities, so that it is possible to estimate the future potential of daily and academic skills and the ability to acquire new learning. Additionally, measuring intelligence is important in the differential diagnosis of various neurodevelopmental disorders.
At Neuropsyedu we offer our clients and patients the following non-verbal intelligence tests.
✅ The TONI-IV Test (Nonverbal Intelligence Test-2) measures abstract reasoning and figurative problem solving to assess people's general intelligence. It is a test that can be administered from 6 years of age to 79 years of age. The TONI-IV intelligence assessment is a short intelligence test (approximately 10-15 minutes) and provides a fairly general estimate of the nonverbal intelligence of the patient being evaluated. Additionally, it can be useful when assessing intelligence in the absence of the influence of language or cultural factors, an aspect that is useful to assess, especially in patients who have some type of delay in their language or difficulties in understanding oral instructions.
✅ Raven-2 (Raven Progressive Matrices-2): is an ideal test to be applied to children, adolescents and adults between the ages of 4 and 69 years old. It allows the measurement of general cognitive functioning, allowing to obtain a global impression of the following areas: attention, perception, inductive reasoning, fluid intelligence, general visual intelligence, classification aptitude, spatial aptitude, simultaneous processing and working memory.
